Intro

Welcome to “Champions of Iberia”.

 

Champions of Iberia is a newly developed team-oriented game mode designed for the best oldschool experience on “4Classic”. 

 

The objective is to work with your mates to get the most points and stay on top of the leaderboard until the time is up. Throughout the match, you have to fight against other teams, monsters, and the constant pressure of getting terminated.

 

Map

The launch map is based on the all-time classic Horusland. We decided to start with one of the most nostalgic maps of the whole game. We adjusted the map for improved gameplay.

  • Customized map size, reduced the amount of objects (e.g. trees) to better fit the game style of the mode
  • Removed unnecessary collisions of fences and smaller walls to prevent skill blocking
  • Added central battle areas
  • Added new paths to connect some linear areas

Matchmaking

Solo (3 players)

  • Description
    • You join solo into a matchmaking queue
    • You will be matched with two random players based on your class
  • Requirements
    • Level 90

Team (3 players)

  • Description
    • You join with two of your friends (also from the other nation)
  • Requirements
    • Level 90

Stages

  • Warmup
    • You and your team will spawn on a random location on the map
    • You will receive a unique team name until the end of the mode
    • You have 1 minute to prepare
    • You receive Unlimited First-Class Mana potion, Cash Throwing Axe/Bolt/Arrow
    • Your whole equipment is taken from outside the mode. Secondary weapons and Race costumes are taken as well
    • Your gear is set to +22 (in the future +21)
  • Stage 1
    • After warm up, all enemies become visible
    • You receive 3/3 priest buffs
    • Monsters from Level 1 to 3 spawn randomly across the map
    • Stage 1 lasts 10 minutes
    • The lowest ranked teams (bottom 25%) by points will be kicked out at the end
  • Stage 2
    • Previous stage monsters despawn
    • Stage 2 monsters spawn, located closer to the center of the map
    • Random respawns are now located closer to the center of the map
    • Stage 2 lasts 10 minutes
    • The lowest ranked teams (bottom 25%) by points will be kicked out at the end
  • Stage 3
    • Previous stage monsters despawn
    • Stage 3 monsters spawn, located closer to the center of the map
    • Random respawn are now located closer to the center of the map
    • Stage 3 lasts 10 minutes
    • At the end of stage 3, the team with the most points will be crowned "Champions of Iberia"
    • All players are teleported to the Celebration area 

Monsters

Monsters are an essential part of the mode. There are 3 types of monsters with various capabilities and rewards that spawn randomly all over the map. By killing them, you receive points determined by their level. Each monster drops vital potions you can use to improve your battle strategies. They also provide valuable battle boxes you keep after the mode ends. The team which does the last hit will get the rewards.

    • 50.000 HP
    • Drops following items to all team members:
    • 5 First Class HP Potions
    • 10 Speed Potions
  • Level 2
    • 100.000 HP
    • Drops:
    • 2 Invisibility Potions
    • 1 Courageness Potion
  • Level 3
    • 200.000 HP
    • Drops:
    • 1 Magical/Physical Defense Potion
    • 10 Speed Potions

Points

You need points to survive the stages and to become a champion. Here is how you get points:

  • Enemy Kill: 5
  • Death: -2
  • Monster Level 1: 5
  • Monster Level 2: 10
  • Monster Level 3: 20

You also lose 3 points by leaving the game (e.g. character selection).

Kill Lock

After your team gets 6 consecutive kills from the same enemy team, this team will get a kill lock. You don’t get any more points (honor/ap/CoI points) until you kill someone from a different team. This should prevent teaming and farming the same team for too long.

Other

  • AP/Honor
    • You still receive honor from killing players
  • Anonymity
    • Replaced the name of enemy characters with class and team name
    • Enemy teams get random colored costumes
    • Enemy max. HP display is randomized (only visual, n ot actual HP)
    • Removed guild name, title, comment, inspect, etc.
    • You and your team can still identify each other
  • Death
    • 10 seconds respawn timer
    • You can choose to spawn on your team mate or at a random respawn location+
    • Choosing a random respawn location will save it for a certain amount of time, should your team mates decide to use it too
    • You get a notifcation when a player respawns close to you
    • You spawn with 30% of your health and 8 second invisibility
  • Buff NPC
    • There are Monk's across the map that will give you regular priest buffs (Level 3/3) with a 3 minute cooldown.
  • Good to know
    • You don't keep any items from inside the mode
    • Some skills are disabled (for example Dignified Suffering)
